With another year drawing to a close, it’s time to reflect on the year we have had. It has been an exciting year for Prestige Place achieving our first ever Royal Ascot winner with Mr Saleh Al Homaizi and Mr Imad Al Sagar’s homebred Aljazzi. The daughter of Shamardal landed the Group 2 The Duke Of Cambridge Stakes by three-and-three-quarters under a brilliant ride by jockey William Buick. Aljazzi went on to break records in the sale ring when selling for the top lot of one million guineas at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.
One of the yard favorite’s Dylan Mouth finished his career on a high this season by landing the Group 3 John Smith’s Silver Cup Stakes at York Racecourse in July. The Dual Group 1 winner has been retired and will now join the British jumps stallion ranks. The seven year old will be standing at Worsall Grange Stud in North Yorkshire for the 2019 breeding season.
Heart of The South Racing’s syndicate horse, Raven’s Lady had an unbelievable 2018 landing two Group races in the space of two months. Her first Group win came in the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York Racecourse back in July before she headed overseas to contest in the Group 2 Goldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden in August. Raven’s Lady had to dig deep on this occasion and went on to win Group 2 contest by a nose to the second placed horse Pretorian. Raven’s Lady has recently been purchased by an American client and will spend next season in Florida with her new connections.
Once again, we are extremely grateful to all our loyal owners and our great team at home who have all contributed to our success this year. The team continues to have a busy couple of months ahead with plenty of runners to look forward to over the New Year period. From all of at Prestige Place, we would like to wish our friends and colleagues a very Prosperous and Happy New Year.
