This years Royal Ascot winner Aljazzi proved to be one in a million at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, the daughter of Shamardal attracted large crowds as she came in to the sale ring before eventually being knocked down to Julian Dollar from Newsells Park Stud for a 1,000,000gns and breaking the sale record for the highest price horse to come out of that that sale.
“She was the only horse I was interested in here,” said Julian Dollar. “It’s quite unusual to see a filly of her calibre here in the Autumn Sale but she stood out.
The five year old was the winner of 5 of her 16 starts for her owner-breeders Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, winning at listed and Group 3 level before landing the Duke of Cambridge Stakes Group 2 at Royal Ascot this season.
“I’m sad to see her go but I’m very happy she has gone to Newsells, she was a honest, straight-forward filly and I’d like to thank the owners for keeping her in training this year. She ticks all the boxes – and I’d like to train her progeny.”
